Sungai Perak

Sungai Perak

The 400 km long Perak River flows from Hulu Perak to Beting Beras Basah in Bagan Datoh to the Straits of Melaka. Sungai Perak is the 2nd longest river in Peninsular Malaysia after Sungai Pahang. It plays an important role in the history of Perak. It is believed that the name Perak is derived from the lightning-flashes found in this river. Along this river valley, it has financed millions of Malays over the past hundreds of years.
